Front & Back Lawns
A full lawn replacement that stays green year round with no mowing and no summer watering. Cut in around beds, walkways and trees so the edges read as deliberate.
Artificial grass for lawns, pet areas and putting greens. Base prep, edging, seaming and infill, done so it drains properly and the seams stay invisible.

Artificial turf gets sold on the turf itself, and the turf is the part that matters least. Almost every bad artificial grass install comes down to the same three things: a base that was not compacted, edges that were never restrained, and seams that were rushed.
Done properly it is genuinely low maintenance. No mowing, no watering through an Island summer, no mud through the door in February, and it stays green in the shaded, root filled corners where real grass has never once worked.
We install synthetic turf for front and back lawns, pet areas and dog runs, putting greens, and the awkward problem areas that lawn simply will not grow in. The before and after on our home page is one of ours.
The existing lawn or surface comes out and the area is excavated to depth. A crushed aggregate base goes in and gets compacted in lifts, then screeded to the contour you want, because whatever shape the base holds is the shape the turf will read forever.
Edge restraint goes in around the perimeter so nothing lifts or curls back. Then the turf is rolled out, left to relax so it loses its roll memory, and cut in to the edges. Seams are glued and joined with the pile running the same direction on both sides, which is the difference between an invisible seam and a visible line down the middle of the yard.
Infill is brushed in to weight the turf, support the blades and keep it standing up, then the whole surface gets power broomed. Infill type depends on the use, and pet areas get a different specification than a putting green.

Built with a free draining base and an infill suited to pets, so the area rinses down and drains through rather than holding odour.
A shorter, faster pile, contoured and cut in with cups placed where you actually want to practise. Fringe turf around the perimeter to finish it.
Side yards, north facing strips and the ground under mature trees. The places real lawn has failed repeatedly, and where turf makes the most obvious difference.
Good quality turf on a properly built base typically lasts well over a decade in residential use, and the base under it lasts longer than the turf does. UV exposure, traffic and the quality of the product itself are what decide where in that range you land.
It does warm up in direct sun more than real grass, which is worth knowing on a south facing yard. Lighter coloured infills help, and it cools quickly once shaded or rinsed. On this coast it is rarely the issue people expect it to be.
It drains through the backing and away through the aggregate base, which is exactly why the base work matters so much. A turf install over compacted clay with no drainage will hold water, and that is an installation failure rather than a turf limitation.
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people call about it. It needs a free draining base and an infill specified for pets so the area rinses through and does not retain odour. Built that way it handles dogs far better than a lawn that turns into mud and worn patches.
